C 37 Aircraft - On November 3, 2021, the 99th Airlift Squadron at Joint Base Andrews (MD) received a new C-37B Gulfstream. Based out of General Dynamics' Gulfstream Aerospace plant in Savannah (GA), Air Force chief, Chief of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr. the first of two new C-37B aircraft flew from Maxwell AFB (AL) to Andrews.

The tail number of the new C-37B is 1941 (all serial numbers 20-1941), in honor of the year of the Tuskegee Airmen. The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of mostly African-American military pilots (fighters and bombers) and airmen who fought in World War II.

In late January 2020, the USAF awarded Gulfstream Aerospace a $127.4 million contract for the delivery of two C-37B aircraft. Next, Gulfstream brought the base C-37B line with L3 Harris communications upgrades, for a total of US $159 million.

This is the sixth C-37B added to the 99th AS, bringing the number of C-37 aircraft to eleven, and the third 89th AW airframe to receive its tail number from a important place in the history of US military aviation.

With the new aircraft, the USAF now has fifteen C-37s (types A and B) in its inventory. Finally, this will be augmented by another C-37B that will be delivered at a later date. The C-37B is the United States military designation for the Gulfstream G550 in VIP passenger configuration.

At the end of December 2019, Magazine wrote about the previous C-37B group planned for the USAF.
